LANDSCAPE FOR THE FUTURE

We converted this traditional garden with overgrown plants and lots of grass to a waterwise landscape with many plants, including native plants, that bloom throughout the year. We added a small patch of lawn for their dog and two fountains near the windows to attract birds and to bring the sound of water into the house. As part of the lawn rebate through the SoCal WaterSmart Program, we installed a water retention basin to allow water from the roof to collect and percolate into the ground, thus helping to restore our aquifers below ground.
